The mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the women on the nodes of the network refers to unity and connectivity of women to further their growth; the airplane denotes science and technology; and the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.

The logo of the university has two strokes of orange and green forming the shape of ‘U’ in tricolour and has a ‘Ashoka Chakra’ at its top. The motto is written in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’.
