The emblem of Government Arts College For Women, Sivagangai (GACWSVGA) features a shield housing the gopuram of the Sri Kollangudi Kaliamman temple supported by a globe and an open book at the bottom and a pair of fish on the sides with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘அறிவே ஆக்கம்’ meaning ‘Knowledge is Creation’ inscribed on the sides of the gopuram. Below the shield, on a banner, the name of the college is inscribed in Tamil. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the gopuram refers to heritage, history and divine blessings and guidance; the globe and the book symbolises education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; and the fish refer to the relationship between Sivagangai District and fish. Fish are deeply rooted in traditional culture, community life, and local economy, primarily centered around freshwater fishing in kanmais (irrigation tanks).
