GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, SIVAGANGAI (GACWSVGA)

The emblem of Government Arts College For Women, Sivagangai (GACWSVGA) features a shield housing the gopuram of the Sri Kollangudi Kaliamman temple supported by a globe and an open book at the bottom and a pair of fish on the sides with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘அறிவே ஆக்கம்’ meaning ‘Knowledge is Creation’ inscribed on the sides of the gopuram. Below the shield, on a banner, the name of the college is inscribed in Tamil. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the gopuram refers to heritage, history and divine blessings and guidance; the globe and the book symbolises education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; and the fish refer to the relationship between Sivagangai District and fish. Fish are deeply rooted in traditional culture, community life, and local economy, primarily centered around freshwater fishing in kanmais (irrigation tanks).

RAJMATA VIJAYARAJE SCINDIA KRISHI VISHWA VIDYALAYA The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior was established by Government of Madhya Pradesh on August 19, 2008 by bifurcating the JNKVV, Jabalpur. The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears. CENTRAL WATER COMMISSION The circular seal of the Central Water Commission has a five petalled flower with a water dam, a powerline on sea water, a borewell pump, plants of cereal and a high tension transmission line each placed inside a petal. The flower is placed in an orange circle and this assembly is ensconced by a yellow circular border, on which its name in Devanagari and English and its motto in Sanskrit ‘आपो ज्योति रसोऽमृतम’ meaning ‘May That Awakens Our Intelligence’ are inscribed.
