The motto of the college in Tamil ‘உற்றுழி உதவியும் (உறுபொருள் கொடுத்தும் பிற்றைநிலை முனியாது) கற்றல் நன்றே’ (183, Purananuru, King Nedunchezhian) meaning ‘By Offering Help.. (and giving gifts, The stage of enlightenment is not a sage,) Learning is Good’ is inscribed on a golden banner placed below the shield. All these motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college in Tamil and English. The shield refers to protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery.
