The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Nemmeli (GASC Nemmeli) features a shield housing the motifs of an open book, a graduating student with a mortarboard hat. The shield is supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கற்க கற்பிக்க’ meaning ‘Lean Teach’ and surmounted by a banner inscribed with the name and place of the college in Tamil. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the human with mortarboard hat refers to educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage.

ECGC LIMITED ECGC Limited (Formerly Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Ltd.), wholly owned by Government of India, was set up in 1957 with the objective of promoting exports from the country by providing Credit Risk Insurance and related services for exports. It functions under the administrative control of Ministry of Commerce and Industry and is managed by a Board of Directors comprising representatives of the Government, Reserve Bank of India, banking and insurance and exporting community. SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
