Below the seal, on a blue banner, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘அன்பு, அடக்கம், அறிவு; meaning ‘Love, Humility, Knowledge’ is inscribed. The gopuram symbolises history and heritage and divine blessings and guidance; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
