Below the seal, on a blue banner, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கற்றனைத் தூறும் அறிவு’ (Thiruvalluvar, 396, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Knowledge Grows As Much As One Learns’ is inscribed. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the gopuram refers to the history and heritage of the place and divine blessings and guidance; Thiruvalluvar refer to the literature and linguistic history of Tamil; and the book refers to learning, knowledge, education and wisdom; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
