VETTRI VEL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (VVCE)
VETTRI VEL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (VVCE) The emblem of Vettri Vel College of Education (VVCE) features a ‘Vel’, the sacred spear of Lord Muruga being offered flowers by a pair of hands, an open book, and a lotus ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, on a banner, the motto of the college is written and the name of the college is written on the right in extra bold sans-serif capitals. The ‘Vel’ is the divine spear of Lord Muruga or Shanmuga. According to Shaiva tradition, the goddess Parvati presented the Vel to her son Murugan, as an embodiment of her shakti, in order to vanquish the asura Surapadman. The book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty.
