The emblem of Dr. Puratchi Thalaivar M.G.R. Government Arts and Science College, Kudavasal (GASC Kudavasal) features the motifs of a pair of dancing couple, a ‘Yāl’ (a traditional lyre), a set of palm leaf manuscripts, the gopuram of Sri Koneswarar Temple, the National Emblem (Lion Capital), an open book and a pair of supporting laurels. The book is inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கற்கை நன்றே’ (35, VetriVerkkai, Avvaiyar) meaning ‘Good to Study’ and surmounted by a decorative blue banner inscribed with the name and place of the college. The motifs of the dancing pair and the ‘Yāl’ (a traditional lyre) refers to the rich cultural heritage and tradition of the place of the college; the gopuram refers to divine blessings and guidance; the palm leaf manuscripts refer to traditional knowledge, heritage, education, learning and wisdom; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

This meant transforming DGS&D to a digital ecommerce portal for procurement and selling of goods and services. Government e Marketplace (GeM) aims to enhance transparency, efficiency and speed in public procurement. The logo of GeM has several arrow shaped graphical structures, which depicts collaboration, coordination and facilitation between government entities and private vendors. It also contains the acronym and full form of the name, along with the motto ‘Efficient Transparent, Inclusive’.
