The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Komarapalayam (GASKPM) features the image of the gopuram of Thattankuttai Perumal Temple and motifs of a lamp placed on a lotus, an open book, a spool of thread and a veena ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. On a banner placed below the seal, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கைப்பொருள் தன்னின் மெய்ப்பொருள் கல்வி’ (22, Kondraivendhan, Avvaiyar) meaning ‘True Wealth is the Education one has Acquired, rather than the Wealth one Possess’. The gopuram represents the history and heritage of the place; the spool of thread refers to the spinning and textile industry of the place; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the book refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; and the veena refers to arts and culture.
