GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, TISSA (GDC TISSA) The emblem of Government Degree College, Tissa (GDC Tissa) features a circle with a landscape of mountains and greenery with lush green hills and mountain peaks, directly mirroring the scenic, remote landscape of the Churah valley in Chamba, where the college is situated. An open and a traditional lamp is placed over the scenery. The circle is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘सम बुद्धिविशिष्यते’ (Verse 9, Chapter 6, Bhagavad Gita), which translates to ‘One with Equanimity of Intellect is Distinguished’ is written on a green banner placed below the seal. The text ‘Estd: 2006’ is placed at the bottom of the emblem. The book symbolises formal learning, the acquisition of knowledge and intellectual growth; and the lamp represents the illumination of the mind, the removal of ignorance and the spread of wisdom.
