GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE CHOPAL (GDC CHOPAL) The emblem of Government Degree College Chopal (GDC Chopal) features a blue circular landscape of snow-capped mountain range with peaks, orange radiating sun and deodar trees ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college in devanagari and English in red. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’ (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’ is written in yellow on a blue banner placed below the seal. The majestic snow-capped peaks and evergreen coniferous deodar trees directly mirror the natural topography of the Chopal region in Himachal Pradesh, which is nestled deep within the Himalayan ranges; and the sun symbolises the dawn of knowledge and the eradication of the darkness of ignorance through education.
