GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, NAGROTA BAGWAN (GDC NAGROTA BAGWAN) The emblem of Government Degree College, Nagrota Bagwan (GDC Nagrota Bagwan) features a shield housing the motifs of a mountain range with peaks and a globe with rising figures supported by a red banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘असतोमा सद्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad), which translates to ‘Lead me from Unreal to the Real’. The circle is ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The mountains in the centre represent the Dhauladhar mountain range of Nagrota Bagwan; and the globe and rising figures illustrate the transformation and growth of the student community.
