GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE, KATHUA (GMC KATHUA) The emblem of Government Medical College, Kathua (GMC Kathua) features a blue circle housing the motifs of an open book supporting the Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings and entwined serpents supporting a torch with flames of fire and the initials of the college ‘GMC’. These are supported by a stylised Chinar leaf and sun rays. The circle is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college, which is placed on a blue flower spread. The motto of the college ‘Success Through Perseverance’ is written on a blue banner. The Staff of Caduceus is a highly recognised symbol in modern healthcare and nursing education, historically associated with communication, balance and the facilitation of healing and it serves as an insignia for medical branches and nursing institutions across the globe.
