GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OF NURSING, GANDHI NAGAR, JAMMU (GCN GANDHI NAGAR, JAMMU) The emblem of Government College of Nursing, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu (GCN Gandhi Nagar, Jammu) features a silhouette of an architectural dome or arch housing the motifs of the planet Saturn with its ring, a range of mountains with peaks, a test tube with DNA helix and a partial gearwheel and a tree. A green banner placed below the dome is inscribed with the motto of the college in Arabic ‘قْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ’ (Verse 1, Surah Al-Alaq), which translates to‘Read in the Name of Your Lord Who Created’.  The name of the college is written along the outline of the arch. The dome and arch architecture acts as a direct cultural homage to the revered 18th-century Sufi saint Hazrat Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah, after whom the university is named.
