GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, GUREZ (GDC GUREZ) The emblem of Government Degree College, Gurez (GDC Gurez) features a snow-capped mountains, a mountain range with with flowing waters, an open book, a traditional lamp and pair of crests of wheat forming a circle ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its year of establishment and pair of laurels. The emblem has a decorative golden outline and the text ‘Kashmir’. The snow-capped mountain peak represents the unique, high-altitude geography of the isolated Gurez Valley; the book represents the foundational core of education, knowledge and lifelong scholarship; the lamp represents enlightenment, wisdom and the elimination of ignorance through learning; the flowing waters depicts the Kishanganga River flowing through the lush valleys of Gurez; the crests of wheat stalks represent prosperity, growth and the harvest of success resulting from a solid education; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, vi...
