GOVERNMENT PHARMACY COLLEGE SERAJ (GCP SERAJ)
GOVERNMENT PHARMACY COLLEGE SERAJ (GCP SERAJ) The emblem of Government Pharmacy College Seraj (GCP Seraj) features a circle with a landscape of snowclad mountain peaks, lush green valleys and a river housing the motif of the Bowl of Hygieia and the snake inscribed with the symbol ‘℞’ and the motto of the college ‘Knowledge Excellence Service’. The circle is ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its place. The Bowl of Hygieia and the snake are universally recognised as a symbol of pharmacy. It originates from Greek mythology, where Hygieia was the goddess of health and hygiene and it represents healing, renewal, and wisdom. The ‘℞’ symbol is the traditional symbol for a medical prescription, derived from the Latin word recipere, meaning ‘take’ or ‘take thus’. The landscape reflects the scenic, mountainous terrain of Seraj and Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
