GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, KALAKOTE (GDC KALAKOTE) The emblem of Government Degree College, Kalakote (GDC Kalakote) features a blue circle housing the motifs of a mountain range with peaks  trees and water, a lighted candle and open book and the motto of the college ‘Character is Supreme’. A pair of green laurels support the circle and the tagline of the college surmounts the circle. The short name of the college is written on a red banner placed below the laurels. The mountain peaks depict the rugged terrain of the Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, where the college is located; the book is a universal symbol of knowledge, learning and open access to academic wisdom; the burning torch signifies enlightenment, truth and the dispersion of ignorance and it represents the institution's goal to awaken the students' intellectual capacities and guide them toward a brighter future; the laurels are symbolise victory, academic achievement and honours.
