GOVERNMENT COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, NAWAKADAL SRINAGAR (GCW NAWAKADAL SRINAGAR)
GOVERNMENT COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, NAWAKADAL SRINAGAR (GCW NAWAKADAL SRINAGAR) The emblem of Government College for Women, Nawakadal Srinagar (GCW Nawakadal Srinagar) features a circle with an image of saffron flower over a glowing sun, ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its motto ‘Learn to Serve’. The saffron flower (Crocus sativus) with purple blossom, which is a precious crop native to the Kashmir Valley, symbolises regional identity, premium quality, prosperity and cultural wealth. The red and yellow saffron stigmas or stamens represent vibrancy, valuable potential, and the blossoming of talent within the student body. The radiating light or sunburst faintly shining behind the flower are golden rays of light, symbolising enlightenment, the dawn of knowledge and the dispelling of ignorance.
