GOVERNMENT COLLEGE SANGRAH (GC SANGRAH) The emblem of Government College Sangrah (GC Sangrah) features a circle housing the motifs of a landscape with green mountain peaks with blue sky, red radiant sun and green field, supporting an open book. The circle is ensconced by a yellow circular border inscribed with the name of the college in Devanagari and its motto in Sanskrit ‘तेजस्विनावधीतमस्तु’ (Shanti mantra, Taittiriya Upanishad), which translates to meaning ‘May our Study be Enlightening’. The mountain range with peaks and the green field honours the local terrain of Sangrah and the broader, majestic Himalayan region of Himachal Pradesh; the sun represents the dawn of a new day, spiritual awakening and the ultimate transformation brought forth by education as it burns away darkness; and the book is a universal symbol of higher education, intellectual curiosity, accessible knowledge and continuous learning.
