THALAPATHY K. VINAYAKAM WOMEN'S ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE (TKV WOMEN'S COLLEGE) The emblem of Thalapathy K. Vinayakam Women's Arts and Science College (TKV Women's College) features an open book supporting an abstract pink human with a mortarboard hat motif and supported by a tree and glowing sun. These are ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, on a golden banner, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கற்க கசடற’ (391, Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar) meaning ‘Learn What is Worthy’ is inscribed. The book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the human with mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the tree symbolises strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity; and the sun sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
