GOVERNMENT COLLEGE SOLAN (GC SOLAN) The emblem of Government College Solan (GC Solan) features a circle housing the motifs of banyan tree with rising sun as the backdrop supported by green plains, an open book and flowing water. The circle is ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita), which translates to ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ and its name in Devanagari. The tree symbolises strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the green plains and water refer to the Kotla Nala and the nearby plains; and the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom.
