MIER COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JAMMU (MIERCE JAMMU) The emblem of MIER College of Education, Jammu (MIERCE Jammu) features a red shield housing the motifs of a pair of crossed torches, a mask of a face, an open book with the word ‘श्रेष्ठ’ and a magnifying glass and the text ‘MIER 1936’. The shield is ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name of the college and three five-pointed stars. The intersecting torches with flames symbolise the spread of light, knowledge and wisdom to dispel the darkness of ignorance through teacher training and education. The book represents formal academic education and research; the word ‘श्रेष्ठ’, which translates to ‘Excellent’, ‘Noble’, or ‘Superior’, reflecting the institution's commitment to high standards and moral values.
