GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLEGE, JAMUI (GEC JAMUI) The emblem of Government Engineering College, Jamui (GEC Jamui) features a blue gearwheel inscribed with the name and place of the college housing the motifs of an open book and a traditional lamp and the year of inception of the college. The wheel is supported by a pair of laurels. A banner placed on the laurels is inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानम् परमम् ध्येयम्’ (Taittiriya Upanishad ) translating to ‘Knowledge is the Ultimate Goal’. The gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
