The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘विद्याधनम् सर्वधर्म प्रधानम्’ (Bhartruhari, Niti Shataka) meaning ‘Knowledge is the Supreme of All Religions’ is written at the bottom. The torches symbolise enlightenment, wisdom and the eternal flame of knowledge ignited by teachers. The key in academic heraldry often represents the key to knowledge or access to new opportunities through education.
