GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, KULGAM (GDC KULGAM) The emblem of Government Degree College, Kulgam (GDC Kulgam) features a yellow circle inscribed with the motifs of an open book supporting a lighted candle, the motto of the college ‘Oh Allah Augment My Knowledge’ and an Arabic prayer ‘رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا’, which translates to ‘O My Lord, Increase Me in Knowledge’. The circle is ensconced by a blue border inscribed with the same prayer in Urdu ‘اے میرے رب میرے علم میں اضافہ فرما’ and in Kashmiri ‘میانہ خدایہ میانس علمس منز کر برکت’ ar inscribed. The name of the college is written on a grey banner placed below the seal. The lit candle and open book signify the illumination of the mind and the pursuit of literacy, destroying the darkness of ignorance through continuous learning.
