TAGORE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, GURDASPUR (TCE) The emblem of Tagore College of Education, Gurdaspur (TCE) features a profile outline of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore placed along a purple swoosh inscribed with the name and place of the college and holding an orange flame and the college’s motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ in its counter. The motto of the college ‘Education for Employment’ is written on a banner placed below the pictorial. The flame of fire symbolises transformation, purification, divine energy, and passion, serving as a powerful dual image of destruction and creation. The colour purple signifies royalty, nobility, luxury, power and ambition.
