NEHRU GOVERNMENT SANSKRIT COLLEGE PHAGLI, SHIMLA (GSC PHAGLI, SHIMLA)
NEHRU GOVERNMENT SANSKRIT COLLEGE PHAGLI, SHIMLA (GSC PHAGLI, SHIMLA) The emblem of Nehru Government Sanskrit College Phagli, Shimla (GSC Phagli, Shimla) features the motifs of an open book, a blue mountain range with peaks and a red lotus ensconced by a red and blue circular border inscribed with the name of the college in Devanagari and its motto in Sanskrit ‘सत्यं शिवं सुन्दरम्’, which translates to ‘Truth Godliness Beauty’. The snow-capped mountain peaks symbolise the majestic Himalayan range surrounding Shimla and the geographical identity of Himachal Pradesh; the book represents the acquisition of knowledge, scholarly pursuits and the study of ancient texts, which is central to a specialized Sanskrit institution; and the lotus represents purity, enlightenment, and detachment from worldly impurities.
