GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, BUDHAL (GDC BUDHAL) The emblem of Government Degree College Budhal (GDC Budhal) features a nib of a pen supported by the text ‘Estd. 2008 and ensconced by a green circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college in English and its motto in Arabic Quranic phrase ‘مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ’, which translates to ‘From Darknesses Into Light’. The seal is supported by a pair of laurels on sides and its motto in Sanskrit in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad), which translates to ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ and its Urdu version ‘اندھیروں سے روشنی کی طرف’. The tagline of the college ‘From Ignorance to Wisdom’ is inscribed on a green banner placed below the seal. The fountain pen nib represents formal education, academic excellence, literacy, and the pursuit of scholarly knowledge; and the laurels signify peace, victory, honour, and academic achievement.
