GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, KOTRANKA (GDC KOTRANKA) The emblem of Government Degree College, Kotranka (GDC Kotranka) features a white and green circle with blue outline housing the motifs of an open book inscribed with the initials of the college ‘GDCK’ supporting the motto of the college in Arabic ‘من الظلمات إلى النور’, which translates to ‘From Darkness to Light’ and a star. The English translation is written below the book. The name and place of the college circumscribe these elements. The open book is a universal symbol for the pursuit of academic excellence, the dissemination of knowledge and intellectual curiosity; and the star symbolises guidance, high aspirations and the achievement of global competencies. The green colour refers to the Islamic orientation of the college.
