SWAMI DAYANANDA COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCE (SD COLLEGE) The emblem of Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science (SD College) features a blooming lotus resting upon an open book with golden sun as a backdrop. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Shloka 38, Chapter 4, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World there Exists No Purifier Comparable to Knowledge’ is inscribed. The English version ‘Knowledge the Great Wealth’ is written at the bottom. The lotus over the book refers to the blossoming of the mind through education and the traditional pursuit of knowledge; the sun represents enlightenment and the spreading of intellectual light.
