GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, KATHUA (GDC KATHUA) The emblem of Government Degree College, Kathua (GDC Kathua) features a yellow circular sun with orange radiant rays housing a red lotus supported by an open book and the college’s motto ‘Knowledge is a Great Liberator’. The name of the college and its year establishment are written on a yellow banner placed below the sun. The sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; and the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom.
