GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLEGE, SHEOHAR (GEC SHEOHAR) The emblem of Government Engineering College, Sheohar (GEC Sheohar) features a gearwheel inscribed with the name and place of the college. In the counter of the wheel, the motifs of a kuthuvilakku (a traditional lamp), a set of three gear wheels, a transmission tower, a desktop computer, a structural bridge and an open book. Below the seal, on a banner, the motto of the college is inscribed. At the bottom, the year of establishment of the college is written. The gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the other motifs refer to subject disciplines of science, engineering and technology.
