SULTANA ABDULLAH ROWTHER COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (SARCW) The emblem of Sultana Abdullah Rowther College for Women (SARCW) features a shield inscribed with the motifs of a crescent moon with star, a mortarboard hat and an open book and the initials of the college ‘SARCW’. The shield is supported by a pair of laurels. There are banners with inscriptions above and below the shield. The shield symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the crescent moon with star refers to the Islamic orientation of the college; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the book book refers to education, learning, knowledge and wisdom; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
