GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, HIRANAGAR (GDC HIRANAGAR) The emblem of Government Degree College, Hiranagar (GDC Hiranagar) features an entrance arch with a traditional lamp supported by an open book with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ Rishi Parāśara, 1,19.41, Viṣṇu Purāṇa), which translates to  ‘Knowledge is the One That Liberates’ is written at the bottom. An image of Goddess Saraswati is placed on the right and an image of a palm tree placed on the right. All these are ensconced by red circular outlines and surmounted by the name of the college.
