THIAGARAJAR COLLEGE OF PRECEPTORS (TCP) The emblem of Thiagarajar College of Preceptors (TCP) features a brown shield housing the motifs of a temple with gopuram, a veena, a traditional lamp, and an open book with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கல்வியே செல்வம்’ meaning ‘Education is the Wealth’ cresting the shield. The name of the is written on the right of the shield in thin sans-serif capitals. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the temple with gopuram symbolises divine blessings and guidance; the veena refers to arts, heritage and music; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the book refers to education, learning and wisdom.
