SUBBALAKSHMI LAKSHMIPATHY COLLEGE OF SCIENCE (SLCS) The emblem of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science (SLCS) features a shield inscribed with the motifs of an open book, a gopuram of temple, a factory, images of Goddess Saraswati, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vinayaka, a lotus and a pair of traditional lamps and surmounted by the initials of the college ‘SLCS’. Below the shield, on a banner, the motto of the college ‘Learning for Better Living’ is inscribed. The book refers to education, learning, knowledge and wisdom; the gopuram refers to divine blessings and guidance; the factory symbolises science, technology and industry; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; and the lamps represent life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
