GOVERNMENT COLLEGE NALAGARH (GC NALAGARH) The emblem of Government College Nalagarh (GC Nalagarh) features a circle housing the motifs of a lotus, a full radiating sun and a pair of green leaves. The circle is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college in Devanagari and its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad), which translates to ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’. The radiant sun serves as a visual metaphor for the illumination of the mind, warmth and the eternal spread of intellect and wisdom dispelling the darkness of ignorance. The flower and the leaves represent growth, potential and the blossoming of a student's hidden talents.
