GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLEGE, BHOJPUR (GEC BHOJPUR) The emblem of Government Engineering College, Bhojpur (GEC Bhojpur) features a yellow ochre circle with orange and black details houses the motifs of rising sun supported by an open book and the words in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ and ensconced by a circle of laurels. The name and place of the college are written around the assemblage in Devanagari and English. The sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
