Below the seal, on a banner, the name of the place of the college is written. At the bottom, on a banner, the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘नास्ति विद्या समं चक्षु’ (Verse 12.169.33, Mahabharata) meaning ‘Knowledge is the Greatest Eye’. The lamp symbolises enlightenment, the removal of ignorance and the light of knowledge; and the book represents learning, education, and academic pursuit.

LOYOLA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JAMSHEDPUR (LCE JAMSHEDPUR) The emblem of Loyola College of Education, Jamshedpur (LCE Jamshedpur) features a cross supported by an open book and the monogram ‘IHS’and placed on a circle ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. A pair of laurels support the seal. On a banner placed below the seal, the motto of the college ‘To be Men and Women for Others’ is written. The cross represents the union of faith and education; the book denotes the education and intellectual rigour imparted to students; ‘IHS’ is the emblem of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits); and  the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

SANJAY GANDHI MEMORIAL COLLEGE, RANCHI The emblem of Sanjay Gandhi Memorial College, Ranchi features a banyan tree surmounted by the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘कल्पलतेव विद्या’ meaning ‘Knowledge is Like a Wish-fulfilling Creeper’ and ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college, a pair of crest of wheat and an open book. The banyan tree or Kalpavriksha represents wish-fulfilling tree and it symbolises the vastness of knowledge and a nurturing environment where students' potential can grow and flourish. The wheat crests symbolise fertility, growth and prosperity, reflecting the institution's commitment to the holistic development and bright and sustainable future of its students. The book is a universal symbol of formal education, literacy and the source of learning that the college provides through its undergraduate and vocational courses.

MADHUPUR COLLEGE, KALAN, JAJPUR The emblem of Madhupur College, Kalan, Jajpur rising sun with Swastika, a set of wavy lines, a tree and a veena ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, on a banner , the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘मधुबता रुतायते’ (मधु॒ वाता॑ ऋताय॒ते, Mandala 1, Sukta 90, Richa 6, Rigveda) meaning ‘The Winds Bring Sweet (Rewards)’. The sun represents the light of knowledge, wisdom and the removal of ignorance; the Swastika is a sacred symbol representing auspiciousness, well-being and prosperity; the wavy lines symbolise active life, the continuous flow of karma (actions) and the nearby river Brahmani which surrounds the college; the tree represents nature, growth and the local landmark of Nandankanan harbour area where the college is located; and the veena, a traditional musical instrument associated with Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and arts, symbolises the pursuit of fine arts and learning.

JAMSHEDPUR WOMEN’S UNIVERSITY (JSR WOMEN’S UNIVERSITY)

JAMSHEDPUR WOMEN’S UNIVERSITY (JSR WOMEN’S UNIVERSITY) The emblem of Jamshedpur Women’s University (JSR Women’s University ) features a flaming torch supported by a pair of elephants and ensconced by a leafy and floral circular border. The name of the university is written above the motifs and its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वं सम्भाव्यते त्वयि’ (Shlok 7, Chapter 32, Adi Parva, Mahabharata) meaning ‘All Possibilities are within’ is written below. This assemblage is placed within a spiked circular pattern. The flaming torch represents the light of knowledge, enlightenment, and the removal of ignorance; the elephants refer to the State of Jharkhand; the leaves and flowers are representative of the State; the spiked wheel refers to the Steel City of Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR CO-OPERATIVE COLLEGE (JCC) The emblem of Jamshedpur Co-operative College (JCC) features a shield inscribed with the motifs of a rocket, an open book with  inkwell and pen and a winged seal. Below the shield, on a banner, the motto of the in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ Rishi Parāśara, 1,19.41, Viṣṇu Purāṇa) meaning ‘Knowledge is the One That Liberates’ is written. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the rocket symbolises science, engineering and technology; the book with ink and pen symbolises traditional academic learning, literature and the pursuit of knowledge; and the winged seal, often associated with aspirations, progress and the soaring of the human intellect through education.

The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘विद्याधनम् सर्वधर्म प्रधानम्’ (Bhartruhari, Niti Shataka) meaning ‘Knowledge is the Supreme of All Religions’ is written at the bottom. The torches symbolise enlightenment, wisdom and the eternal flame of knowledge ignited by teachers.
