GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, KUPWARA (GDC KUPWARA) The emblem of Government Degree College, Kupwara (GDC Kupwara) features a circle with images of green mountains, a pine tree, a radiant full sun, an open book on a book reading stand ‘rehal’ and a pair of white stars on a green circles, ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The motto of the college ‘Let’s Share Knowledge is inscribed on a green banner placed below the circle. The scenery refers to the locale of the college; the sun symbolize the light of truth, wisdom and intellectual awakening dispelling the darkness of ignorance; the book on the stand signifies academic excellence, respect for literature and deep-rooted knowledge; and the white stars symbolise nature, guidance and peace or unity, combining the eco-friendly and life-giving meanings of green with the aspirational and protective qualities.
