TAGORE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JAMMU (TGE JAMMU) The emblem of Tagore College of Education, Jammu (TGE Jammu) features a circle housing a range of mountains with peaks supported by an open book and ensconced by a light blue circular border inscribed with the name of the college. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad), which translates to ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ is inscribed on a magenta banner placed below the circle. The mountain range refers to the local geography; the book symbolises knowledge, continuous learning and academic accessibility.
