DORANDA COLLEGE, RANCHI The emblem of Doranda College, Ranchi features a shield with red outlines housing the motifs of a scene of local landscape, a traditional lamp placed on a lotus, a gearwheel and a pair of wheat ears. A rising sun surmounted by the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ crests the shield. The shield is supported by a banner inscribed with the name and place of the college in Devanagari.
