The initials of the college are written on the left of the circle, the name of the college surmounts it and on a banner the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘उदारतया सत्यलब्धि’ (Upanishad) meaning ‘Attainment of Truth through Generosity’. STELLA MARY’S COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (SMCE) The emblem of Stella Mary’s college of Education (SMCE) features a panel housing a decorated plaque housing the motifs of an open book inscribed with a cross and supported by a pair of laurels with the tagline of the college ‘Praise the Lord Born to Learn’ written around. The name of the college is written on the right in red, green and blue sans-serif capitals. The book refers to education, learning, knowledge and wisdom; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the cross is the primary symbol of Christianity, representing the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, his victory over sin and death, and his ultimate sacrifice for humanity.
