BHARGAVA DEGREE COLLEGE, SAMBA (BDC SAMBA) The emblem of Bhargava Degree College, Samba (BDC Samba) features an oval housing the motifs of an open book supporting a lotus and a radiating traditional lamp with a pair of scrolls on the sides. The oval is ensconced by a border inscribed with the name and place of the college. A yellow banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ (Rishi Parāśara, 1,19.41, Viṣṇu Purāṇa), which translates to  ‘Knowledge is the One That Liberates’ is placed below the oval seal. The book signifies the core of academic learning, the dissemination of knowledge and intellectual inquiry; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the lamp represents enlightenment, the removal of spiritual and mental darkness through education and the awakening of the intellect; and the scrolls represents academic achievement, success and reco...
