The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ surmounts the circle and the name of the managing body in Marathi supports it. Lord Someshwar refers to the divine blessings and guidance; and the shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery.
