GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, THANNAMANDI (GDC THANNAMANDI) The emblem of Government Degree College, Thannamandi (GDC Thannamandi) features a lighted candle supported by an open book and ensconced by a green oval border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The oval is supported by a green banner inscribed with the motto in Arabic ‘رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا’, which translates to ‘My Lord, Increase Me in Knowledge’ of the college. The year of establishment of the college is written at the bottom. A pair of green laurels support the oval. The lit candle stands for enlightenment, wisdom and the elimination of ignorance and its glowing rays spreading outward represent sharing that knowledge to brighten the community and the world; the book represents academic pursuit, formal education, accessible knowledge and lifelong learning; and the laurels symbolise achievement, peace, success and continuous personal growth.

The year of the establishment of the college is written below the ribbon. A pair of green laurels support the seal on the sides. The lit candle symbolises the light of knowledge guiding students toward a brighter future; the book represents academics, literacy and continuous learning; and the laurels signify honor, academic achievement and victory.
