SAHARSA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING (SCE) The emblem of Saharsa College of Engineering (SCE) features a gearwheel inscribed with the name and place of the college. The counter of the wheel houses the motifs of an open book supporting a human figure with outstretched hands surrounded by a dish antenna, a microscope, a helicopter and tower. The gearwheel is supported by a pair of laurels and a banner placed below the seal is inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’. The gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the abstract human figure signifies empowerment and the transformation of youth into innovative leaders; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard ...
