ORIENTAL INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, MIDNAPORE (OIST MIDNAPORE) The blue colour emblem of Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Midnapore (OIST Midnapore) features a structure of DNA in black and white with ‘OIST’ placed in the counter. The motif is ensconced by a gearwheel inscribed with the name and motto ‘Explore, Create’. The structure of the DNA symbolises science, technology and engineering and the gearwheel  denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure.
