GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, VAILOO LARNOO, ANANTNAG (GDC VL) The emblem of Government Degree College, Vailoo Larnoo, Anantnag (GDC VL) features an open book inscribed with the motto of the college in Arabic ‘نُورٌ عَلَى نُورٍ" ’and ‘Light Upon Light’, the initials of the college ‘GDCVL’, rising sun with radiating rays and a floret at the base ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the college’s taglines ‘Seek Knowledge from Cradle to Grave’ and ‘The Way to Excellence’. A pair of green lighted candles are placed on the sides of the seal and the name of the college is written on a banner placed below. The book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the floret base show organic growth, prosperity and blossoming potential; and the green candles signify the transmission of knowledge, self-sacrifice for societal guidance, and continuous guidance.
