The shield represents protection, defense of truth and spiritual strength. It directly correlates with the institution's official motto: ‘Virtue is our Strongest Shield’. The cross, placed prominently at the very top of the shield signifies Christian faith, divine guidance and the foundational spiritual values of the institution. The four quadrants feature the sacred heart / flaming heart, the lillies, the religious cipher and a laurel wreath.
